The Electric Shop is responsible for the repair and maintenance of all power supplied to the entire campus.

Power distribution from the two substations is either in conduit underground or in overhead cabling, also maintained by this shop. These systems feed all Cal Poly buildings through various transformers and supply several voltages as required by the customer. The Electric Shop maintains every light and receptacle on campus, and all power to any equipment or building (including dormitories). Additionally, the electricians provide assistance with new construction projects. All Electric Shop requests should be directed to the Facilities Work Center at 756-5555.
