The Maintenance Budget

Facilitiy Services is budgeted to operate, repair and maintain state facilities on campus. This does not include Auxillary operated buildings (ASI, Corporation). Overall budget is approximately $5.50 / sq. ft.

Maintenance funding goes to:

Custodial	Fleet Maintenance
Landscaping	Event Support
Utilities, purchase, supply & distribution	Surplus Property Removal
Administration	Recycling
Building Maintenance

Projects:
Except for maintenance, upgrade and renovation projects are typicaly funded by Facilities State Operations funds.

Building Maintenance is comprised of three parts:

• Scheduled and reventative maintenance. Response to trouble calls - call 6-5555 or e-mail facserv@calpoly.edu
  
• Replacement of systems that have failed or reached the end of their life span.
  
• Current budgetary status
  The backlog of systems needing repair or replacement is calculated at $70 M
  We are able to dedicate $2M annually to repair and replacement
  We fall further behind every year
  Our replacement budget has been reduced approximately 20%.
