ALUMINUM/GLASS/PLASTIC - Take your toner cartridges back to the vendor or Cal Poly Recycling will help you find a vendor. |

BOOKS - Put your books in a box labeled "Recycled Books" and contact: |

CARDBOARD - Cardboard can be dropped off at the loading docks of each building. If a designated recycling container is not available, please place the cardboard next to the dumpsters and it will be picked up. |

PAPER - All paper products, including stapled paper, windowed envelopes, phone books, magazines and junk mail can be recycled. Please discard carbon paper, label sheets, tissue, mylar and paper towels in regular garbage cans. Unfortunately, these products are not recyclable at this time. |

CONFIDENTIAL SHRED - This is an expensive and more energy intensive way to recycle paper. Please do not shred paper that is not absolutely necessary. |

GREEN WASTE - Green waste is composted or chipped for mulch and reused on campus. Composting takes place near the Experimental Farm and the green waste is mixed with straw and animal bedding from the cattle/dairy and horse units. Campus Dining separates vegetable scraps from salad preparation for composting at the site. Some of the compost is also sold to the community. SCRAP METAL - Cal Poly's on-call recycling program will pick up and non-hazardous metals. Just give us a call and we'll take them off your hands. |
